The technical platform is organized around 3 modules:
Scenarios are developed in the development workshop.
These scenarios can then either be run independently using NES or JES, or else organized, managed and scheduled using the Cockpit module, an SQL engine that runs with a reference database (in a Windows environment).
By using the XML structure for scenarios, the development, execution and administration/scheduling aspects can be totally dissociated.
This enables in-house teams to develop individual, standalone processes that can be run scheduled by any type of business application (e.g. existing scheduler, CRON, MSMQ, Web Service, etc.).
The development workshopPaseoAdvance Enterprise's development workshop is called Designer. It lets you generate complete scenarios that are then saved in XML format for use on .net and Java platforms. Designer offers all the necessary development functions, including debugging, variable tracking, dynamic traces, automated documentation, security features, etc.
The real power of this development tool comes from the 150 integrated connectors that encapsulate existing technologies and elevate them to a consolidated functional level.

The execution engine
The execution engine is a service that enables the scenarios (described in XML) developed using the development workshopto be executed independently.
In reality, there are two services:
- .Net Engine Service (NES) for the .net environment
- Java Engine Service (JES) for the Java environment.
Communication is handled using a "service agreement" protocol with an XML structure accessible via various mechanisms (command mode, API, MSMQ, IP, web service, etc.).
These services are what permit the concept of a "Runtime" independent of the development environment.
Cockpit
Cockpit is the global scenario repository, an execution planner and a development environment for comprehensive functional or business solutions for our partners and customers.
Cockpit is based on a repository database, a modular graphic interface and a configurable web interface. It provides total execution scheduling control for the entire information system and can even be used to build complete business solutions.
Cockpit adds a functional level to the technical layer provided by the scenarios, resulting in a product capable of managing thousands of computers and millions of files and processes in a robust, user-friendly and upgradeable way.
